Securing Hybrid Cloud Workloads with Google Anthos and Aqua Security(18 Jun 2019)
Automation and code-driven infrastructure provides massive flexibility to development teams. On-demand deployment of kubernetes clusters can speed up test and development time, but can also be difficult to mange. Config Management, a part of Google Anthos, and Aqua Security can be combined to centrally control on-demand ephemeral infrastructure.
Serverless Continuous Delivery with Google Anthos Cloud Run(25 May 2019)
Google Cloud Run is a new offering from Google that is currently in Beta. One of the main use cases is to enable running stateless HTTP containers on a fully managed environment or in your own GKE cluster. Cloud Run is part of the Anthos solution offering and falls under the Serverless category.

Harness the power of Google Kubernetes Engine on your premises! Oversee hybrid Kubernetes deployments and autoscaling infrastructure as code.
Collaborating with Google on Cloud Services Platform(14 Mar 2019)
Every once and a while I am reminded that all this cool new technology we are fortunate to make a living from still comes down to the people you get to meet and interact with. Looking back about 9 months, a couple weeks after we announced our official partnership with Google I was introduced to a couple Googlers that were working on a fresh new Kubernetes project. Most of the conversation was not about the technology or what they were building but what the market and our customers needed to be successful with Kubernetes. At this point it was no secret that Kubernetes was a very big deal and many people trying to deploy and manage it as scale were having some challenges. Google was clearly looking to solve these challenges and also take things to a new level.
Shift of Power(19 Dec 2018)
Our utilitarian computing landscape has changed from a few short years ago. It continues to change, but let’s focus on the recent few years to have a simpler scope of retrospection.

A quick video walkthrough of the new Cluster Console in OpenShift 3.11
Fireside Chat with Loris Degioanni and Knox Anderson from Sysdig(16 Oct 2018)
We have been getting a lot of great feedback on the recent Fireside Chat series we have been posting. This week I am traveling on the west coast and had a stop over in San Francisco for GitHub Universe. I had some time on Monday so I stopped in at the Sysdig office to meet some of the extended team and dig deep into their culture and powerful technology. As we know timing is everything... I managed to get some time with Loris and Knox and have an impromptu fireside chat.
Fireside Chat with Liz Rice - Aqua Security(09 Oct 2018)
On October 5th in Toronto @ "The Vault", Arctiq had the pleasure of hosting a fireside chat with Liz Rice from Aqua Security at our Building a Secure Container Strategy
Understand Containers - For VM Makers(27 Feb 2018)
There are things to do differently and there are different ways to think about how resources get provisioned for applications and services. I had to undergo re-shaping how I think about containers, because I grew up in the time of VMs.

With the rapid adoption of containers throughout the industry, the landscape of technology and tools in the enterprise is forever changing. Once the excitement of getting the technology up and running wears off, we are often left with the same questions we find enterprises regularly asking.
Arctiq's - Red Hat on Microsoft Azure Webinar - Recording(26 Feb 2017)
When the world's two foremost data centre operating system companies start collaborating, we should all sit up and pay attention! Arctiq specializes in the integration of open source solutions to support modern IT transformation, and both Red Hat and Microsoft play a big role in our engagements. From virtualization to containers, across public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms, and the glue that is automation and orchestration, the Arctiq team helps our clients navigate the murky waters. To this end, the marriage between Microsoft and Red Hat is beginning to drive some real world solutions - such as the OpenShift Container Platform running in Azure, or the ability to easily port your RHEL subscriptions into Azure with Red Hat Cloud Access.
OpenShift on Azure... Eh ?(05 Dec 2016)
There have been a few options over the past year or so but those offerings looked much more like a traditional managed service offering than a real 'Cloud' IMHO. Personally I always felt that Amazon EC2 would be the first to open their doors to Canadians but Microsoft beat them across the boarder.
It's time to build an application pipeline... OpenShift 3.3 integrated Jenkins pipeline demo"(07 Nov 2016)
Everyone wants to achieve better code promotion automation, which is generally referred to as 'being agile' and moving to 'Continuous Deployment, Delivery, and Integration'. I know from experience this was very difficult in the world of virtual machines and bare metal servers, but thanks to container orchestration technologies you will see (in the video below) that times have changed and it’s not so hard anymore.
Changing the default SSL certificate on your OpenShift routers(05 Nov 2016)
While it may not be a frequent task, updating SSL certificates is necessary from time to time. In this post, we will illustrate one method of changing these certificates with minimal impact to the production cluster.
