  • Kicking into Fifth Gear pt2

    (03 Oct 2017)
This is where my twitch began to calm, as I was able to get closer to the inner-workings of what made Linux shine for enterprise applications. It wasn't easy at first, but though some coaching and networking with colleagues, much of the work wasn't always work to me.
  • Kicking into Fifth Gear pt1

    (18 Sep 2017)
Having finished education in a completely different field of work and feeling confident of that career path, I did notice a slight twitch in my hands. I was watching as my backup plan to work in I.T. was moving out of reach if I didn't do something soon.

  • Toronto Azure Meetup Recap - From Code to Containers and Automated Pipelines on Azure

    (18 Apr 2017)
Arctiq recently presented to the the Toronto Azure Meetup Group. The topic was Linux Container Platform (Kubernetes, OpenShift and Ansible Automation) including Pipeline Automation - From Code to Containers and Continuous Delivery on Azure. • YES! Ansible can automate all, including Microsoft Windows Server

    (16 Mar 2017)
One of the things that we’ve seen gain a lot of traction is native support for Windows inside the Ansible platform. It is hard to find a homogenous IT stack nowadays. For example, you may have a Linux server farm but with Active Directory proving its identity. Your management tools needs to be able to handle Linux, Unix, cloud services and.. Windows
  • Delivering "Push Button" Automation Integrating CloudForms and Ansible Tower

    (15 Feb 2017)
Today I will be taking you on a quick expedition on how you can integrate two modern Red Hat products to help automate your business. In this example, the button writes to the /etc/motd file of a specific VM using a very simple role from Ansible Galaxy.
  • OpenShift on Azure... Eh ?

    (05 Dec 2016)
There have been a few options over the past year or so but those offerings looked much more like a traditional managed service offering than a real 'Cloud' IMHO. Personally I always felt that Amazon EC2 would be the first to open their doors to Canadians but Microsoft beat them across the boarder.
  • It's time to build an application pipeline... OpenShift 3.3 integrated Jenkins pipeline demo"

    (07 Nov 2016)
Everyone wants to achieve better code promotion automation, which is generally referred to as 'being agile' and moving to 'Continuous Deployment, Delivery, and Integration'. I know from experience this was very difficult in the world of virtual machines and bare metal servers, but thanks to container orchestration technologies you will see (in the video below) that times have changed and it’s not so hard anymore.
  • Using your Openshift CDK to Build & Deploy ASP.NET Containerized Applications

    (03 Oct 2016)
Since we can now deploy our ASP.NET applications inside OpenShift the game has changed. We can benefits for all the platform automation and integration that OpenShift provides.
  • Productive Developer Tools - Deploying OpenShift "Container Development Kit"

    (26 Sep 2016)
Think of it as OpenShift 'In a Box', enabling developers or infrastructure teams to get hands on experience with OpenShift without needing access to a full virtual or physical environment.
