Modern Mobile App Development with Red Hat

  • Batch 75 Victoria Street Toronto, ON, M5C 1M1 Canada (map)

Arctiq is happy to be hosting a workshop focused on building Mobile Apps with the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform.  Red Hat's Mobile Application platform team of Steve Drake, Bob Tierney, and Chad Holmes are joining Arctiq to lead this in-person workshop.

What is Red Hat Mobile Application Platform (RHMAP)

The Red Hat Mobile Application Platform supports an agile approach to developing, integrating and deploying enterprise mobile applications. The platform supports native, hybrid or web apps and collaborative development across multiple teams and projects with a variety of tool kits and frameworks.

Audience

This workshop is recommended for developers, operations and technical leaders/managers who are interested in learning about how to code and build mobile apps using the platform’s easy drag and drop capability.  This workshop is also targeted for technologists that are presently using OpenShift Container Platform for application development.

Workshop Goal

Following this workshop, developers and infrastructure operations technologists will be self-sufficient to test RHMAP for mobile application development. The workshop will also be using Openshift Container Platform as a Mobile backend and will demonstrate the seamless integration of RHMAP with Openshift.

Topics:

  • RHMAP Overview

Technical demonstration on Red Hat Mobile Application Platform and using Openshift as a Mobile Backend. Openshift is an incredibly flexible platform that can improve your application development. RHMAP and Openshift are the perfect way to rapidly deliver a solid and seamless mobile development experience.

  • How to Build Mobile Apps

RHMAP brings agility and visibility to enterprise mobility. This session goes over the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform and its functionality. If you have not used RHMAP before, this demonstration is perfect to guide you through the basics and jumpstart your mobile application development.

We'll use Red Hat Mobile Application Platform to build a hybrid mobile application using technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. We will also build a Node.js microservice to retrieve back-end data, and return it to the application. You will leave this session primed with practical experience using Mobile Backend-as-a-Service (MBaaS), with the skills needed to build and deploy native-like mobile applications and their integrations.

Finally, time permitting we will create a mobile forms app in minutes, no coding skills required. Forms-based apps are easily created and a highly effective effective means of replacing paper or electronic-forms, allowing businesses of all types to capture data via smartphones.

Please don't forget to bring a laptop to participate in the sessions.  As always space is limited so register early.

We hope to see you at the event!
